Dealing with emotions on this site

Hi guys , I don't think this is a thing that has been talked about much .

This site has millions of users . Most probably haven't explored this site beyond playing chess. But many others have . We join clubs , we engage in blogs and forums , we make new friends. We talk with them , get to know them better and become close . And over the course of time many of us get emotionally attached to the friends we make here . Everything is fine and good until one of your close buddies leave the site. I have been occasionally using this site since the last two years . And I have been using this account since last 9 months . And even in these 9 months , I have lost countless number of close friends . One of my closest friends right now at this moment is probably going to be inactive for a year . All these events have taken a serious toll on my emotional health . But it also makes me think about others . I am sure there are many more who get very emotional when a friend leaves . There are people who have been on this site for 10 years and more . I wonder how do you guys deal with this sadness? How do you bear the pain of losing a close friend ?

You just have to accept the fact that friends come and go and very few will be around for a lifetime.

R.I.P @JackRoach and @C9_Narwhal. Great friends. I make more friend when I lose friends or play chess and do other things to take my mind off of it

Considering your account is 9 months old, and you have 1135 "friends".  I dont think you really understand what a friend is.  And if this wrecks your "emotional health"?  How do you deal with real life issues?
