I suggest that you send a ticket to help and support; naming and shaming on the public forums will only get you in trouble.
Death threats i mean really.

You probably wouldn't be banned, just comment edited and warned. However, you really should report this guy...

if i get banned for asking a question and posting an example then i don't mind.
Report him, then block him.

Cade, the notes left on your wall by several people all seem to suggest that you're not a very likable person. You make a lot of people angry. Time for a little self-reflection?

I run a sports forum for a local NFL team. I have VERY few rules on my board. Cussing, name calling, it's all good. I do have one hard and fast rule. NEVER threaten another poster with bodily harm. I hope this site has a similar rule. As others have said, report him. Hopefully, this will be his last day here. There's no call for that. In this day and age, when things are so crazy out in the world, to make threats like that is serious business.

I speak in maybe 1% of my live chess games and i don't care if people leave negative notes, i've been called every name in the book just for winning or forcing a draw with out saying a word. I only made a remark this time because it was about death threats.

yes lets alert the chess authories before local police. You sir get a thumbs up in my book
Local police for a death threat that came from somebody in another country o.O

Death threats on forums or in games (chess, role playing games, first person shooters) have been around forever (well, forever in the internet sense). They all have one thing in common: they are all laughable. Just block him and report it to the chess.com staff and move on.

I agree knight and did report, my real question was why do people get so mad over chess but i can see this has got blown out of proportion, mmurrii not being mean, but calling people immature for hurling insults while hurling your own doesn't make much sense.
Are you concealing your fear, by blaming him or are you geniunely concerned for him and are trying to get him help. Is it the former or the latter?

People of all age groups use this site, some can ignore people but there's no reason kids have to read garbage like that.

Because some people can feel at ease being immature in an anonymous environment like the internet, even going so far as to try the "tough guy" act on people, because they know they will never, ever see the person they are trying to "bully" face to face. It's like "drunk courage", where you will say or do something that you wouldn't normally do while sober. It'll never change. As a teen I used to get worked up in video games with people... these days it just makes me chuckle and shake my head. Getting so upset over a game is simply pathetic and sad... kind of like a child picking up the Monopoly board and tossing it across the room because he lost. Just remember that and move on.
