2...g6 I reckon.
Deep Fritz 13 vs. Houdini - It's On!

So, we're just waiting on Houdini's second move.
Playing 'both sides,' Fritz gives the following, so far:
1. c4 Nf6
2. d4 e6
3. Nf3 Bb4+
4. Bd2 Qe7
5. g3

At this point, we're both running our computers in perpetual analysis mode. I allowed Deep Fritz to 'think' for 12 hours before making the most recent move. Here's what he sees going forward:

Someone asked me about PC benchmarks. Here's my system report.

I mentioned in an earlier post that Fritz's base rating is not as high as Houdini's. Let's see what happens, and whether hardware makes any kind of difference. At the moment, it appears that Houdini sees the same moves entering the middle game.

I'm now seeing a difference in move order. Houdini prefers to kick Ng5 before capturing the d-pawn. Fritz is deliberating, but I fully expect the obvious Nf3.

What are you using, chessbase? Are you both using chessbase?
I'm using the Deep Fritz engine with its Deep Fritz 13 GUI. I don't know what GUI Joe is using.

My opponent and I have created an unrated game for Deep Fritz (White) on my PC to play Houdini (Black) on his computer.
Our PC specs are comparable. I'm looking to see if Deep Fritz 13's "Let's Check" cloud-based perpetual analysis will trump Houdini's higher base rating.
May the best bucket of bolts win!
