Devil's Advocate..... Because Bobby had such an impact on my life and his complex personality combined with his unuic chess skill... Stoll my heart.....and he will always be the greatest chess player of all time in my eyes...... that being said..... KARPOV is # 2...... ..... here's the DEVILS QUESTION .... did ..... Fisher disappear when Russia Created the antogin called KARPOV .... I think he did ....! ?
But than again Fisher had an ego why would he have been afraid
He hated the Russians and I think if he knew he would lose instead of disappearing he would have made some excuse to why Karpov won

Fischer is the one who didn't show up. I believe Karpov was slightly better.

No way. You guys don’t get it. You guys don’t realize how great he was. Way better than Karpov. Check out the link I popped. Fischer sacrifices his queen in the middle of the game. He sacrifices his queen when no sane person would do it.. He’a playing a master’s level game.
there’s another game where the pundits are saying Fischer just resigned, because his opponent gets up and walks away. Too funny, the j-ass pundits didn’t even realize that Fischer had won the game. That’s how subtle the victory was.
Now tell me some great stories like that about Karpov’s games? Crickets chirping...

I feel this is inaccurate, at least as stated. Fischer had great respect for Russian and other Soviet players. Fischer did, however, despise the Soviet political machine which he felt encouraged or demanded unfair practices.
