Hello everyone. Today i was going to buy the DGT Walnut Chess Board. I got confused when i saw the board. The white squares had different dark patterns. I do understand that the board is handcrafted and made from wooden materials. But i don't think that a company like DGT would make something like this. Because in my opinion it will distract player. The seller saying this is genuine DGT board. But i have doubts after i saw patterns. I mean these patterns shouldn't be like this i guess. How do you think the board on the photo is fake or not?

This is natural wood and not plastic. Don't think it'll be as perfect as a digital chess.com chess board….

I know that this is natural wood and not plastic. I was just wondering if this is acceptable for the chessboard to have patterns on white squares as on the photo. But anyways appreciate for your reply.

That’s just how real wood works, have you never seen wood before? Nobody’s ever going to get the exact same pattern on every square. If anything that proves its actual wood not imitation wood

My man, i know what wood is. But when we talk about chessboard it has to have clean and similar wooden patterns. Not like on the Image i have posted. I just don't want to believe that a company like DGT would ever make such a board like this. The patterns are like some dirty spots. Why not make them like a lines or something. For the price they ask for the board (250$. Pieces included) it should be smooth i guess.

Bro has never seen real wood in his life. If you don’t like how it looks, don’t buy it, but it having a pattern that you don’t really like doesn’t mean it’s fake

Every wood has another pattern, but never straight lines. If they are all lines, then you can inmediately know that it is not fake wood.

You guys didn't get the point. I'm not saying that this is not made from wood. I was asking if it's fine if a board that can be used in tournaments can have these kind of very visible patterns. I have seen other DGT chessboards that don't have patterns like that. Ok let's close the topic. Appreciate your patience.
