Did Chess ruin video games for you?

I bought Dark Souls 3 for Ps4 over a year ago.  It's still in its plastic wrapper...

DS3 is an absolute 10/10 game

I know, that's what everyone says.  And Dark Souls 1 was awesome, and I actually beat it

I beat DS1, then got DS3. Played it for about 20 minutes... it was basically the same game with different graphics. That's boring, so I stopped.

You know what? Chess is cheaper than videogames. Even with chess.com membership. I get the benefit out of it and it makes my entertainment cheaper and more thought provoking.

Not at all. Every once in a while I take a break from chess and play my old Nintendo NES games. I still love playing Super Mario Brothers and Mike Tyson's Punch Out.

Since I started playing chess before I played video games, not really. And I am more of explorer than achiever, so I prefer(ed) trying out many new games instead of perfecting my skill in one single game. But part because I am getting older and part because mobile gaming is just awful most of the times, chess has become best mobile game for me together with duolingo and plague inc.

The last game I was addicted to was Elite on my Commodore 64. I had a foray with BF2 on the pc, oh and freelander. But I collect stamps, have a model railway and am a bit of a local historian. That being said I am happy, I have a nice home, a nice family and I married a 6ft underwear model who was a former bellydancer. I think nerds and geeks can do well!

yes yes i never stopped playing video games since i was little , i played like 99% of the games out there but 2 months ago i was bored so i played 1 match online and haven't stopped since then . and now i seemingly abandoned video games , but maybe it had more to do with that there's so so so so little games releasing this year that nothing new is worth playing , also i am depressed so chess makes me feel less worthless when i win which is strange

I just make my own video games. 

Before Chess I was playing awesomenauts only for 10 years. Now I have been playing Chess as my main game for 1,5 years. I prefer to focus on one game. So I think I will main Chess now for years. But I am gonna play Diablo 4 when its out but I dont think it will take as much time as Chess do.

What's a video game?

There's only chess, and nothing else.
