You might want to try correspondence chess so that you have plenty of time to think about your moves.  After you get practice with plenty of time to think you will be able to speed up your calculation.

How could somebody born in 1980 be 14?

BC_91

if it was 1994, duh

Conflagration_Planet

Then why does it say 1980?

Chessgod123

It's extremely unlikely.

A bullet rating "alone" doesn't get much respect around serious chess circles ... you might want to try your hard at OTB chess with non-blitz time controls, say G/30 or over.  That provides more baseline information to give you a better answer to your question purely based on a "rating" and "age".

Though I agree with the earlier posts ... If you are looking to get titled beyond Expert/Master:

- You should start off as early as you possibly can.

- Your natural talent + tactical abilities alone should have you playing like a competent ELO 1600 player before you even study one word of chess.

From what I've read and seen of prodigies,  they blast past a OTB slow game rating of 1800 quite quickly.

With your current attitude you couldn't make it, even if you had started when you were 4.

Anyway if you want the only truth you can ask here

Most people who do start when they're five don't ever make it to GM level.

ImaBullet

first off all he was born in 1980. And he has no chance to even get at a club players rating i mean his blitz rating is 900

ImaBullet

Hahahaha the guy who posted this has no hope in even reaching a 1700 FIDE Rating

I can only tell you what my trainer Bogdan Bieluczyk(IM over the board, ICCF world champ) from my youth told me once when I asked him If I can ever become a grandmaster - 'sure - if you work hard enough. 5% natural talent + 95% hard work = grandmaster'. One of my good mates back then (we were from the same town, same age, members of the same club, participating in same tournaments) was also trained by this guy. He didn't have more talent, he just worked hard to be good. Now he's a GM, his name is Piotr Bobras FIDE rating 2561. So don't listen to anyone who tells you that you cannot do it - sure you can but you will have to work your ass off Laughing. Good luck.

Btw it says my birthdate is 1980 because I accidentally selected that. Also, my blitz and long ratings are low because I just screw around with shady openings I find on google for blitz and long games. I've only played bullet seriously.

ImaBullet

LMAO no beginner really plays Bullet seriously only the ones above 2000. People usually prefer blitz or standard seriously

How do you know he didn't have more talent?

ImaBullet

Hey how long did it take you people to get the rating you currently have.

DrSpudnik

This reminds me of the news story about the woman suing her toddler's day care center for having them play games and sing songs instead of prepare for Ivy League entrance exams.

As your understanding of the game improves, so will your rating.

Because I grew up with him, because for some time we played on equal level, because I knew him well and finally because my trainer was always saying that if I work as hard as him I might be able to achieve something in chess (not because I was so brilliant but because hard work makes a grandmaster).
