Do I have what it takes to be a pro at chess?
This would mean you would get paid for playing chess. You need to be at least a GM ability. I get the impression that once this is done, it isn't that easy to win tournaments and get a regular income. A lesser title and therefore standard of play, would require you to put yourself about as an author/educationalist in the chess field. Presumably the owner of chess.com is a "chess professional" - I'm sure he makes - and good luck to him - more money than the average jobbing GM.
According to the urban dictionary, it might be that you have what it takes, being an 18 year old sperg.

an aspergers person throwing a tantrum
to have an infantile shitfit about something completely arbitrary
Can I get really good at chess if I put my mind to it?
Relatively speaking, probably yes.
Do I have what it takes to be a pro at chess?
No.
But hey, you can always comfort yourself with the idea that "anything is possible if you believe, deep down, in the primordial poop soup of your soul" or some BS like that.
And in any case:
Does it really matter whether any of us think you can?
If you have what it takes to be a pro at Chess, you would be better off (financially at the very least) putting the same effort and commitment into a better paid profession.
The only (good) reason to put that much effort into becoming that good at a game is sheer love of it.
(Or... not being able to do anything else I suppose!
