Yes, chess.com Staff look at all reports, but they don't usually contact the one who made the report. Sometimes the reported member is given a warning, other times muted, in more extreme cases banned.

If you ever do make a report which requires you being contacted back (which is less common), then chess.com support will usually email you within 3 business days.

You can be sure that chess.com Staff looks into all reports.

p.s. chess.com Moderators (like myself) just help chess.com Staff and keep the site running smoothly (like moderating the forum threads, or chess.com events etc.), but don't usually look into reports themselves. That would most likely be the role of chess.com support department (which are all Staff).

chess.com Staff looks into all of the reports, but whether they decide to warn, or some other action is between chess.com and that member. You probably won't ever know what action was taken. Don't hesitate to report if you have reasoning to do so though. That's what brings it to the attention of chess.com Staff and helps keep the chess.com community the amazing place it is happy.png

Couldn’t have said it better myself. 😁

The only method of reporting that I'm aware of is to click on "report" after I click on my opponent's ID. This brings up a list of check boxes (at one time, it also included a comments section). What is there for the staff to check? It would seem that my report just goes into an automated system.

Is there another method of reporting that provides more detail to the staff?
