Might have been from a tournament, I saw some kid who won a youth tournament and got Candidate Master as a result despite being 1400 rating

All on a thread about an utterly non-issue.This thread is very much a "why do you even care?" topic.There's nothing to object to,like much of what is going on in the post-industrial,1st world,it's a non-issue over an imagined problem. Woman's titles in chess...ok...not bothered, never even considered it until this derpy thread. Woman's titles unfair some how(to snowflake men)---as far as I can tell ,one big bag of NOPE.

Jokes aside, the pyramid effect is probably the only thing to it. The broader the base, the higher the apex. There are way fewer women in chess, therefore fewer of them at every level. Why not make a separate pyramid just for them. Why would anyone think it is unfair?

Rating is nothing more than a simple way us dumb humans want to measure ourselves... You never know that a low rated can be stronger than you.

Because its interesting to discuss things, and why they exist, and especially ones that relate to controversial issues like positive discrimination.

I dont think it'd be much of an issue at all. Who is going to swap citizenship just to better be able to get a non-majoriry chess title? And they still have to meet rigorous chess criteria anyway.

No because women aren't as intelligent, as example the botez sisters are 2000 rated and have a rock for a brain.

as a women i respect all opions here but somtimes it can be hard for females cause almost constently we are told to stay in the kitchen or we are told we could never do a mans job when we are completely capible we also dont always get as much respect as men like when we acomplish a weight loss goal theres always one or two people saying well you could still lose more
