Do you feel Bobby Fischer is over rated ?

I mean don't get me wrong , he is phenomenal and did so much for the chess world more then anyone else, BUT it seems new players in here and in real life know just Bobby Fischer and Kasparov(his even more over rated, not phenomenal at all, fake, unskilful, coward , prearranged cheater. but that's another story).

So my point is we keep forgetting people with real talent, skills and just pure gugeniuses like Mikhail Tal, Alexander alekhine, Paul Morphy.

Sure Bobby Fischer is in the same league, but it seems that anyone starts chess or do a poll with threads such as player vs Bobby Fischer. , it seems that they only know Bobby which is kind of sad shows your little knowledge about chess.

It's like always comparing Ferrari with everything or Jack Daniels with everything without even knowing about single malts or ..Louis Vuitton, you got the idea sure this are good brands for a reason but you need to be more educated then that.

U forgot a capital letter on Alekhine, Y R U disrespecting him?

We talk about chess careers here only, not outside life's .

Mikhail Tal was heavy drinker and smoker , so what?

I'm guessing your threads haven't be as successful as you wanted them to be, so you went for the sure thing?

I find it interesting that you only listed "attacking" players, but completely ignore the more balanced players (of which, Fischer is one) like Capablanca.  And dismissing Kasparov is interesting.  I wonder how much of that is bias due to his political stances.

Interesting thought I agree about attacking

Are you aware that Alekhine was one of the most historically over rated and despicable world chess champions?  For example, he was a practising alcoholic, anti-Semitic and a Nazi sympathizer!

so was Fischer.

Alekhine was talented, but not as talented as Capablanca. After Alekhine had the lucky win against Capablanca...he purposely avoided Capablanca at all costs for a long time...until Capablanca got older. Then Capablanca played against Alekhine one final time and destroyed him in their last chess game, I think. Capablanca had more natural talent than Alekhine. I agree with you about Tal and Morphy having a lot of natural talent. Morphy might be the best player of all time. Tal was an attacking/sacrificing genius...the magician from Riga. I think Bobby Fischer is one of the greatest of all time, but maybe he is overrated. Yeah, maybe Kasparov is overrated too.
