Fortunately, I have never really experienced this. Most players that are stronger than me tend to give me respect (it helps that I play my best against stronger opposition). And I agree that it is necesary to face adversity in the form of strong opponents in order to grow. I think that you should simply ignore them: the fact that they're bullies shows you your above them. If the problem is severe, you can probably report it to some authority.
Do you find you get bullied by higher ranked players on the chess board?

what is wrong with u. you would tell your parents if some strong player anialated u. Im sorry but that is not the way the world works.

I don't recognize that galazy reflectivist, which is it?
One of billions, I'm told. Actually all I can say is "Not the Sombrero galaxy and not the Milky Way galaxy and probably not the Andromeda galaxy". I didn't look it up at the time, I just liked it.

Right, definitely not the beautiful Sombrero galaxy. Just so you know, there are no pictures of the Milky Way...yet. It isn't M31 (andromeda) cause I know all the important ones by sight. I was just curious.

@oldchessdog, absolutely. Most of the time I'm more scared of the weaker players as I think most people are

My parents are very powerful influential people. If they find out you beat me at chess, they'll ruin your credit. You'll never be able to get work in the region again. You really don't know who you'r messing with, so cool your heels, hotshot.
ps: I'm kidding. You seriously didn't see the obvious/intentional humor in the op?

Years later when I was an older adult I learned from my younger sisters that they used to threaten their classmates with me "my big brother will come and beat you up". Of course I never would have - but the younger classmates then thought I was a bully when nothing could have been further from the truth.
Not sure what conversation the OP was trying to invoke, but I can't see how playing someone higher rated would result in anthing other than most likey losing.
If he was talking about abuse in the forums ("why are you posting - you're rated so low") then I've seen none of that.
The whole thing was just humor. Someone had a thread about being bullied for real, in real life, and of course, in that case, a kid is generally advised to let some adults know. And I just thought, wow, on the chess board you really get bullied, just as a metaphor, of course. Your opponent is definitely out to get you, even if they're way out of your league :-)

Actually, it is the Andromeda galaxy.
I stand corrected. I should have played Know Your Galaxies, growing up. If I ever do any intergalactic traveling I'm going to need to get a good GPS system for sure!
I'm never afraid of a higher rated opponent, and I don't mind losing to them at all. They teach me a lot! I would never consider losing to one "bullying." That's just silly.
It's the lower rated opponents that I'm afraid of! ;-)
