Suggestion, for vibrating you live (Blitz chess 3-5 min)...maybe this one, adrenaline:

'Evanescence - What You Want'

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wVWazHTunSI

Play the Blitz on these sounds, blinck of on eye moves, ejoying in full. Must say I like it, improves my games.

But then again, I also fully understand the players who more like to play games some quiteness, well, we people all have different needs and preferations, and we respect all.

My opinion, enjoying a good smoke (cigarrillo or pure blach tobacco) together with a good drink (I prefer good red wines) and at the same time enjoying good sounds/music, that enhances my 'feeling' for playing good chess, in the blinck of an eye (Blitz talking here). Sometimes, when I play chess (Blitz) in the mornings, sipping black coffee, then I play my worst games making some blunders. But the above only represents my very personnal opinion on this subject.

see it for the first time. I do not know that person, still, I must state that I like what he said about chess and music.

HessianWarrior

You did read through this thread didn't you?

miletus

Well, this thread is about listening/enjoying good music while conducting games (I presumed Blitz), and since I allways listen music while playing (powers me up) I gave my opinion. But I certaily do not know the person you mentioned! I read a lot, but not all.

miletus

Maybe that person, French, will later read and react himself, cannot help yu there

miletus

Hey Hessian, since this thread about 'chess + music' while playing, since you are a great expert on music, what would you advice the players to listen to?

Always opera & classical music. Usually helps if I sing along (I am an amateur lyric baritone) :D

That is a great style posting you made(!), opera, classic, so I propose this one, what do you think of it???

'Pavarotti "caruso"

Listening that giant legend, well, certainly benefits y Blitz games!!

Your opinion?

Woodshover

miletus

My opinion: 'listening and understanding such beautifull music while conducting fast games, well, will bring one 400 points at least!

miletus

...that is..If one realy FEELS the music (and the culture for that matter)!

Pavarotti is my favorite singer ever. So yes, I like "te voglio bene assai" :)

I cannot sing it, though :D

I prefer listening to heavy bass arias, such as Mozart's "Madamina il catalogo e questo"

So great to meet another Maestro Luciano Pavarotti admirer!! ( I honostly had the tears in my eyes when I heard he died), so let us enjoy the great(!!!!!) Nessun Dorma (timeless song!!):

I do not keep any friends lists, but if I would, you would be asked to the list!

miletus

Listening such music while playing chess?? Boost you points with 600 at the leats!!!

HessianWarrior

I like "Rock Me" by Great White. I don't know about it boosting chess points but it boosts the way I feel.

Glad to meet you here, Miletus. Are you a USCF player? Your blitz rating seems to be rather strong. Would you like to play some games? :)
