It seems like it is common that chess players with more than 130 IQ or 'gifted' (European test) are the who are really capable of reaching the GM title.
But since at high levels of chess it becomes more important memorizing certain lines at certain point it should be really profitable for players who have good memory.... but wait... what I was talking about ?? ahhh yes..: is the memory factor as important as being 'gifted' to be able to reach the Grand Master title ?
