Not even close: open positions are by far the greatest beauty in chess, the tactics raining down and brilliant sacrifices are what breathes life into this ancient game and keep it interesting.

Playing closed games is literally like playing tic-tac-toe or checkers. Even if you win it's not fun. At all.

If you wanna go down that path...

closed positions make sense.

Semi closed, and positional.

Because that's where my opponents seem to make the most mistakes.

for example, the game I lost against you in an open position was far more fun to me than the games I beat you in a (relatively) closed game. Just a personal thing.

The only reason you beat me in the only closed position is because I blundered my queen to a one move tactic after getting a +5 positional advantage

bruh

yah

you blundered your queen

see?

You are correct!

A chess player who says that he only lost because he blundered is like a car driver who says that he only had an accident because he wasn't paying attention.

closed always.

You prefer closed positions, but you always fianchetto.

what is that supposed to mean? They all end up closed anyways.

In closed positions, fianchettoed bishops usually don't have straight lines.

do you really play chess?

Guys, play a new game then. )

I make the most mistakes in closed positions, tbh

Open positions are easier for me to play

Oh yes

dungfwef

of course, closed because then you will have more time to approach and improve your position.!!!

rtanner1001

I definitely love closed games. But recently, I've coming upon opponents that like to use some pawn breaks to blow open the center and make it an open game which I'm not all that good at playing.

mrOpenRuy

closed positions allow my oppoment to take a million moves on whatever he wants

open games every move matters

rtanner1001

I notice your name. Would you like to play some ruy lipez games and chat?
