Do you think Hans Is cheating?

I don't always like his personality, but I'm not sure I've ever disagreed with something Finegold has said heh.
I like Karen's take on Hikaru, suggesting things for hours then "I'm not saying he cheated." Sometimes I feel like Hikaru is mentally a teenager, but maybe that's the persona you have to adopt to get a lot of subs... although I recently checked and it's not a surprise to me that Levy's YouTube videos get 5-6x as many views in spite of their similar sub numbers.
Eh, this turned into an anti Hikaru rant... what were we talking about? Oh yeah, Hans. I'm waiting for evidence beyond Hikaru's stream, and Carlsen better have a pretty good story.

I find all of these streamers irritating, I don't see the appeal at all.
I agree for the most part. Naroditsky is good, though, and seems pretty bulletproof morally/ethically.

Streaming for the most part isn't about being knowledgeable or well informed. Its about being shocking.
I'd guess something like 90% of people use 90% of their mental bandwidth to navigate things like relationships money and health. At the end of the day, when it's time for entertainment, you better keep things niiiiice and simple, otherwise people will ignore it.

With the internet we have all the knowledge of the known universe at our fingertips. One year the 3 most searched words were: Free, Porn, Sex. Leave it to man to ruin a good thing.
Free porn sex? Sounds like a good time to me!
(It always annoys me we can type "porn" but not the childish word boo+b)

The pipi in your pampers open.

The amusing thing about the "I'll play naked" offer is that it makes it clear that if he *is* cheating, then he's got to be willing to keep his receiver somewhere he thinks it will still not be discovered...

I think that Chess.com owes its customers and the chess community a detailed explanation of their decision to ban Hans after he beat Magnus and dis-invite him from the Global Chess Championship. The whole "We don't comment on FairPlay decisions" statement made by Danny Rensch is insufficient in this instance given the clear conflict of interest because of the business relationship between Magnus and Chess.com. I would like to see a third party come in an review this situation either FIDE or US Chess in order to provide some kind of independent review of this Fair Play ruling.

Whether you agree with it or not. Its a chess website and rules here are different than rules in normal life. Sure an explanation would be nice, but its apparently not going to happen. Its retarded, but it is what it is.
I agree in principle, but it is bad business. It would be one thing if Hans had not called them out, but by calling them out, he has almost forced their hand. If they are hoping it will just blow over, I think they are underestimating how bad this makes them look.

Except that it's their house, their rules. They don't have to explain anything. To anyone. At any time, anywhere, for any reason.

Wesley So is winning this ending against Hans. Does that mean Wesley is cheating??
If he is beating someone rated 180 points higher, and has a history of cheating, and does it as black, after he can't explain some of his other wins, then he might be.

I think he is cheating, and my opinion is based entirely on his analysis after his game against Firouzja. There is no such thing that a top GM cannot provide some lines after sacrificing a piece. Their lines might be wrong, but at least they have them.
It seems to me that the opinion of a grandmaster (or IM or CM) carries more weight than most. I would have no idea what is, or is not, a good analysis after a game. But I do have a question. They talked about "increased" security. What exactly do they check when they go into the tournament hall? Is there a metal detector, pat down, x ray, etc?

The very thorough wanding of Hans has been shown here and there (video below) they also said they were going to have some kind of RF scanning (sweeping radio frequencies and listening in) as a cheat detection measure.
I don't think Hans is cheating. I think Magnus needs to speak up, his tweet trashed Hans' reputation and that is unfair.
Either provide evidence of cheating or say nothing at all. There is no way for Hans to defend himself against Magnus' cryptic tweet.
To be fair, Magnus has said absolutely nothing, so it is impossible for his tweet (which did not say anything other than "I'm withdrawing and I cannot say more") to trash Hans' reputation.
Once the tweet was out there many people started to blame Hans. If the tweet wasn't directed at Hans then Magnus should have cleared that up immediately.
By saying nothing he is allowing Hans' reputation to get trashed.
The best always get a free pass.
Unless there was something dramatic... like... maybe some fighting going behind the scenes, between rounds, between Hans, Carlsen, Rex etc... unless it's something like that I don't think Carlsen will get a free pass this time, at least I hope not.
