I was thinking of getting a MacBook air/pro. but I'm worried if this site, or lichess causes overheating, or extreme battery drainage?

I play here and on the other site with a MacBook Air and they work perfectly. Hardly tax the machines at all. The new M chips are very efficient.

Thanks for your response. It encouraged me to buy. I purchased an (m1 13.3 air) and it runs fine, no heating or drainage.

No, I'm not a Mac or Apple person. I used to be Windows, but now I just accumulate used PCs and put Linux on them.

I expect that in the next two years, there will be a glut of old PCs that people will be ditching, due to the new hardware requirements of Windows 11.

Not dollar per dollar.

Any computer that requires a browser and cloud services to do anything is a computer that I wouldn't want at any price, even free...

It comes built in, with no extra cost other than the purchase from the store. $100.

If you want to put your unencrypted personal files in the cloud, go ahead. That's something that I refuse to do under any circumstances.
