Does bullet chess hurt a player's slower time controls ?

If a player plays too much bullet chess at like a minute per side do you think it will hurt their rapid chess at like 15 minutes per side ?

Yeah, it will hurt your rapid and blitz play.

But if you play both time controls regularly then it doesn't really matter.

For a Chess noob like myself I find that too much bullet chess is bad for my play in longer time controls. After playing a lot of bullet I find that I often rush my moves in rapid. It takes more time but it’s good to play a lot of longer time controls and form good habits which you can then use in bullet.

Why not read what a master level player thinks about it, based on his experience:

Meh, I still think it depends on how much time you put into it. If you play both then there's no reason you can't be good at both. Even Carlsen plays trashy bullet games online.

Quite likely, to most players but to varying degrees. For me, I only play rapid and long controls over-the-board, never online (exclusive to blitz and bullet only).

As others have pointed out, regular exposure to both bullet and rapid should not affect rapid play greatly.
