Does chess.com punish toxic players?

I was about to beat a guy, so the guy just stopped playing and was letting his time run out. I got frustrated so I chatted "lmao" to him since he was just wasting my time, and in response he messaged me saying that he was going to report me. I didn't cheat at all, he simply sucked. Is there a way to report players that are toxic like this, I don't they think they are good for the platform?

Just disable the chat and play, easy

No he’s spamming my messages, I don’t think I can disable that

You can mute your opponent while in the game (tap on his profile icon/avatar and click “mute.” Easy enough.) If you’re referring to other messages outside the game, you can just unfriend them and they won’t be able to message you anymore, I think. I don’t chat with people a lot on Chess.com, so I’m not entirely sure, but you should definitely be able to mute them in some way (if you can’t, Chess.com has some serious work to do). You can also go into settings and disable the chat function so that you can stop this from happening in the first place. Hope this helps! Stay safe, everyone! 🙏😊

When that situation happens, best if you just browse something while waiting. 2 screens are better UwU

chess.com compensates for unfair losses caused due to players stalling games, thankfully.

Most players in fast games like 5 and 10 minutes will simply desert the game rather than resign. It's a mental illness. Something to do with not admitting defeat. I've gotten used to it.

You should definitely report him for stalling/sandbagging. It is against Chess.com ToS.

It's also probably harassment to threaten you with reporting, or for abusing the Chess.com reporting system. He probably want to scare you away from reporting him.

No it's not. I'm going to report you for misquoting the Chess.com reporting system.

I jest. I'm actually a very respectful player.

Now I am reporting you for lying about your toxicity. A very toxic thing to do.

Say toxic five times slowly. It sounds like a clock.
