For me, its how they play chess make a person attractive. I don't know how to explain, but ive played with a girl that is my friend, and when i ask her to play chess with me, i am quite impressed how she could play and beat me even with random moves, i am not a good chess player though, but i can say that Ive played more in chess than her. So its quite suprising for me and make me more interested about her. Still don't know why, i just found people that is smart is attractive

And your making it out like chess is just a guy thing, and females shouldn't or don't play, that's just the way it looked to me anyways. *shrug*.

Thats not really the case anymore though. You go to a tournament nowadays, and there's a lot more female players then in your example. Ig because chess is more popular in general now

Anybody can imagine getting a great hand. But imagining winning a chess game is tougher. Plus a lady standing by the card player is immediate tension as it is an archetype of trust vs risk. A lady standing by a chess player is just confusing.

Chess being a nerd game is a recent stereotype created by high school students who want to seem cool. Erase that stereotype from your head. Over the centuries it used to be a game of kings, still is, and always will be. Of sophisticated, intellectual people. Winning an OTB FIDE World Championship or tournament is a thing of prestige. Look at it that way, and let's stop arguing. Go out there and defend chess! If you play chess and think it's unattractive, you have low self esteem.
