What does genius mean?  It is a chicken and egg thing.  If you can solve the chicken and egg problem, you are a genius.

Evolutionary the egg has been around much longer than the chicken.

Right. I once played blindfold chess in the army and I was drunk as well, and won the game of course, and it lasted some 30 moves. Does it make me a genius?

Right.  I once played blindfold chess and I drunk even though I did not drink because they made me drink.  And there was 30 of them moving the pieces.  And I checkmated their king in the middle of the board.  I am a chicken man myself.

I guess the IQ gets bigger, but that doesnt make us smarter. It makes us better in certain mathematics. We are growing a more powerful calculating processor. What i think is that the mathematic part of IQ gets more powerful.

To get smarter, you have to rehearse other things, and playing chess is an obstacle here, because it is eating time you could have spent improving your smartness.

it was the only way to let them know that I was not in a good mood for a few games of chess

I don't know about increasing IQ but since chess is largely about making decisions I think chess does make me, at least, more thoughtful about making decisions in life in general. Does this fit your definition of smarter?

Are you seriously implying that to be Geniuses we must turn to God?

If so, right on!

yes and the best way not to be too high IQ is to go to "off topics" sometimes. You go down quickly and hve fun, the most important thing in life.

No, no, no.

Avatar of quietvolcano

I think it might.

It can improve your logic and reasoning

Make you think stategically

No, as WobblySquares pointed out, the egg came first, because other animals, such as dinosaurs laid eggs before the chicken evolved. The first chicken egg was laid by whatever animal directly preceded the chicken in evolution. Understanding evolution does not require turning to God. God is just the name Christians and people who live in predominantly Christian nations give to the fundamental truth of existence- the one thing that cannot be attributed to an external cause, God, like existence, is simply because it is. Evolution is not as fundamental as God, because it is not impossible to explain why evolution happens. It happens because of natural selection, which is a natural law. Natural law exists because of the fundamental way things are or God.

Precisely.
