Does chessbase have its own database or do I have to download one?

I have the chess base 2017, 2013 and 2007, I want to know if I can download a base data for it or if they use, if they have how I can see the book of openings, and if not how I add one.

That is what they sell- a huge chess database, along with various products related to it.
