No. I always play like I'm a chess god.
Does everyone have days when they play terribly??
I play really bad sometimes but It happen too that you gain rating points so you play better players, then you lose and get back to your natural rating and then you maybe lose some more because you are playing not so good and keep going down in your rating until you start playing lower rated players and you start to win some rating points until you reach your natural rating level, then as you are playing good you win some same level or upper level players and you keep winning rating, until you--- well kind of get the idea I guess, that's I'm always 1900 and will be forever I guess :)
Yes!! I feel like I am play bad all the time. Challenge me to a game if you would like and we can discuss it.
Just as there are good business days, and bad ones.........sometimes weeks as commented earlier by members.....

RUB IT IN why don't ya Lofina....hahah

I noticed this with myself, so I began looking for any patterns related to the days I play poorly. Few things stood out, except I did notice one with very high correlation: the days I play poorly tend to end in "y".

Then you can be rest assured in knowing that even though you may have played poorly yesterday and today, you will be better tomorrow.
I have bad days, and for me it's not just a matter of concentration, it's also a matter of getting lazy about doing all the things I need to do before making a move, especially looking to see if all my pieces are protected and if there are double or discovered attacks to which I am vulnerable.
I also have bad days in terms of trying to find a good strategy coming out of the middle game. I either launch an attack without enough material to pull it off or get defensive instead of making threatening moves. I those cases it IS a case of concentration failing me.
The way I get out is to acknowledge that I am in a rut, I don't really play this bad. Then I focus on tactics, study a little and wait for it to pass. After a 2 week rut I am finally coming back quickly and am at 1750's..... The sun is shining again......
