He said in an interview he was GM Phoenix here, not sure I ever saw a "GM Phoenix", though. Sounds like a made up name. Maybe he meant to say ICC and for confused.

Anyway it looks like the great mystery is solved finally. yes, a Phoenix account by Magnus actually exists. I had thought it was a fake.
Nice detective work by Please_let_me figuring it out, he deserves all the credit for this discovery.

Please let me win has pretty much flushed that theory with his findings. We now know that Phoenix is Carlsen.
Phoenix is Nakamura. I don't think Phoenix has even logged in since Nakamura created an account with his name on it. The magazine that was brought up I believe claimed that Magnus Carlsen does play chess over the internet but didn't specify on what website.

Can you link the evidence? I never heard of there being evidence of Carlsen claiming he was Phoenix.
