I think that's one of those JFK things.
And the flagon with the dragon?
Haha yep....The Court Jester.......that spiel was part of our popular culture from the late 50's to around 1980, when it began to fade because of the aging population. People would run those lines to each other, and for two decades Danny Kaye would be recognized on the street and people would run run up to him and read them off.

It was a comedian, did a routine based around it, even did a book by that title, around 1964 I think, maybe before.
He has a massive talent. Most of his moves come from intuition. It's just on top of that he also has a superb memory.
Agreed!!!!
You mean Vaughn Meader?

Wow, I didn't know it was that popular.
Reminds me of the song "she blinded me with science" where for years people would walk up behind the guy and shout "science!" which he hated hah.
That's an 80s thing though.
Carlsen had a amazing memory.... and his father taught him chess when he was 2yrs old... by then he could do chess lesson all from memory when he was 4 years old.... he then did lots of memorizing....... and studying..... and entered in lots of tournaments and became Grandmaster at 13 years old.... he then drew Gerry Kaparov and said "I would have finished him off If I had time" He studied tons of chess stuff.... and got a visit from kasparov himself..
I heard he didn't start playing until he was 8 & his older sister was better than him so he wanted to get better than her. The rest is history...........
This is the single most idiotic question for the last year or so.
Magnus is a chess genius of a caliber of Capablanca. His power is his outstanding positional understanding, and his awesome fighting spirit.
I consider myself too weak to judge his play.
He is very talented, but not capablanca talented. :)
What does it mean to "do chess lesson from memory?"
Is that like the matrix or something?
A lot of people seem to think that chess is all a matter of memory anyway. I guess it's like equating skill at the game directly with IQ points...
He's more Flohr-talented.
See, I'm thinking he's more like a Square Dance talented than a Barbeque kind of talented. He's certainly no Phyllis Diller.

Or like equating... skill at basketball to how many times you can curl a 20 lbs dumbbell or something.
Ok, you got me. I'm out of my league. Whew! That was tough, my head hurts.......... Gonna go get a beer maybe.
