I believe it does. I enjoy the games collections of many famous players.
Does Silman's games method work?

Are there even 'tens of thousands' of master games recorded to PGN?

What about work? How am I supposed to go through so many master games with work getting in the way.

In my larger database of games, there are almost 900,000 games with players listed 2300+. There are likely some duplicates and a number of rapid/blitz games in there too.
My smaller database, of newer games, has over 100,000 games that meet the same critera. I think it would be pretty easy to get tens of thousands of master games.
Going over them, is another story. That depends on how you do it and how fast will still give any benefit.

Funny you should ask.
A few years ago I wrote this software for a client that would play sublimal videos on your computer desktop. It would allow you to continue doing anything you want on your computer but the desktop had a very-very dim video playing.
Last year I started in on an application that does this for chess games/puzzles. You can feed it a PGN, set a few parameters and it plays out the games in a low visibility overlay on your desktop.
My real work keeps me away from it.
If anyone here likes to dabble in C# and would like to look at finishing it, let me know. It just needs work on loading and organizing PGNs as well as settings like move speed and such. All pretty simple stuff.

Chesstempo has 1,488,575 games where both players are at least 2200.

In one of his posts, International Master Jeremy Silman states that, to become a strong player, one has to play through tens of thousands of master chess games quickly. Has anyone tried this method? Did it work for you?
I'm looking for a link to this post. Who can help me?

I think it may have been mentioned in one of his books.
