tbh i am not convinced your mood will change your skills, just maybe your implementation of them.
Does your mood change your chess skills?

I have noticed that I play a little better when listening to music I like....maybe it makes my mood more positive?

Friday I got wonderful news that lifted my spirits immensely: I won't need an operation on my left shoulder's rotator cuff and I will be able to learn to scuba dive and dive a reef in the Caribbean Sea in August as planned and paid for.
So I promptly made a blunder in a daily game, underdefending f2 around the same time I posted a message on these boards pointing out Fred Wilson's #1 goal in his Simple Attacking Plans: Relentlessly attack f2 or f7 in the opening.
I thought I was making a combination that put me ahead a pawn, so maybe too much euphoria put me in a state of mind where I became too aggressive. I know that after I've lost a game, I have to fight against the tendency to be too defensive/passive in my next game and if I've lost a few in a row, I start looking for something simple like the Giuoco Piano.
anyways, if you get the chess blues, put on van halen full blast and thank me later.
