What have you achieved by posting this? Do you think that you have shamed Stephen more than yourself?
Don"t play with him/her

Not everybody wants to read such messages. Please think before sharing vulgarities with people whom you do not know.

not everyone wants to listen to people who complain like little girls about every little thing. think twice about complaining about someone else's freedom of speech. you sound like an imbecile.

I recommend you click this link http://www.chess.com/legal and read the sections about uploading vulgar, and obscene messages. I also recommend that you do some research into the laws of private businesses, and why they are allowed to restrict first amendment rights (i.e. free speech). By registering with chess.com a party agrees to all terms and stipulations noted by said business. I tell you this because I firmly believe that knowledge is power, and I want you to become educated on a topic in which you sir, are frankly quite ignorant.
Why not just disabling the chat? The game is on the chess board, not on the keyboard.
I rarely, if ever, communicate with my opponents in live chess anyway. If for some reason I should need to do so, I might send a private message afterward.

Good people play chess with the pieces on the board.
Those of poor upbringing operate their mouths + vulgarity so report him. (or her)

Oh, i'm sorry i didn't realize you were legal council for chess.com and that you are the apparent authority on telling people what they can and can't say.... oh, that's right, you're a nobody who get's offended when people say bad words. that being said i think chess.com has enough people working for them who can censor the forums without a peon do-gooder like you butting in. so scram.

At 1st, I was gonna chime in and say, "come on people, give him a break, the OP is just a kid who doesn't know any better." BUT THEN I LOOKED AT HIS HOMEPAGE. He's been here since 2008 and has 0 friends. Now I'm REALLY suspicious of him. Somethings not right medically. 0 friends in 6 years ??

I'm glad to see such rational comments as Prundentia posted.
On the other hand I'm chagrined by comments such as yours.

@Prudentia
I thought your response was one of the more well written posts I've read here on chess.com. Yedddy clearly has some issues...

Could be he/she is just a person with a healthy attitude to friendship. In what way does clicking a button constitute the formation of a relationship?
Sometimes I click the button, but it means nothing. I don't expect to ever go for a surf or beers with any of the accounts that have requested friendship

Ah, batgirl, as one of your readers who admires your articles and your style of writing, I am sorry for spouting off. Forgive me if I have offended you or anyone. I wrote out of irritation at the way people seem to think they have license to say anything they want not caring how it may affect them. Perhaps I just did the same
and I agree with you completely!

I've got him beat ... I've been here 7 years and have 0 friends.

on one hand i like the idea of a woman trying to think for herself
but then they regurgitate they same old feminism inspired, baby coddling
rhetoric that makes me wish they would just go back to the kitchen.
