I've found that most people who are willing to take shots at LGBT people are the ones who don't have a partner in life, or aren't able to keep one. There is a thread about lonely people playing chess. Perhaps, lonely people don't play chess, but rather, they go back to the same forums all the time to insult others without giving any useful contribution to the forums whatsoever.
