Draw Offerings

Hey Community,

i guess everyone here knows that sometimes a game reaches an almost dead position, in which none of the players finds a good move with equal material. In that positions a draw offering is okay or even polite.

But there are guys who offer a draw in a clearly losing poition... what do you think of persons like that? The reason for the topic is a game I played a few minutes ago. My opponent offers a first draw at move 35. I think that wasn't unpolite, since I'm just one pawn up. In the following moves my opponent sends me several draw offernings, the last one at my last move... that was before he disconnects (he had 45 seconds left on his clock).

Here's the game:

So, what do you think of this kind of persons?

As with everything else in chess (placing the board with the sun in your opponents eyes etc. All is fair) just decline and don't let it rattle you.

I often offer a draw when I have clearly lost, it's meant to come over as a bit tongue-in-cheek! I would be quite saddened if I thought it was offensive.

I never disconnect or make my opponent wait; I always play to the very end but do move fast. It doesn't particularily bother me when my opponent refuses to move and makes me wait - sometimes it's the only rest i get between gamesSmile.
