It seems like the Parham opening isn't being played very much anymore. However, what I am seeing a lot of now is similar in that many people are going with the early queen activation (within the first 3 moves or so). This always seems like the same thing. A desperate grasp at a quick win. Then they end up wasting multiple moves repositioning the queen as I develop my pieces. Quite often they end up losing the queen and have very little else developed.
