argh I hit post too soon. Ego says "I'm awesome so of course I have a solid position"... "My sacrifice must be sound because I'm a genius", etc.

"I'm so smart for seeing this complicated tactic, surely my opponent has no good reply" instead of looking for one.

Detaching from the ego I can calculate without thinking of it as "my move, my win" but rather "Black's" or "White's". Anyone relate to this?
