I take a position that Musk has gotten some things right. Very right.
And that many of his idiocies are 'intentional' as it were. Idiiotic intentionally.
As an assertion of power and for other reasons.
Its very easy to under-estimate such people - including to under-estimate their ability to deliberately make trouble and lots of it.

Perhaps IPG was suggesting that if other games and hobbies are 'wastes of time' then why would chess be an exception?
It would not be !
Hobbies and games are investments.
Kids are encouraged to enjoy that investment and invest in that enjoyment.
