Which is the most important element to apply to your game? Developement, Material, Time, etc.

All are important. Which is most important depends on the position.

Although I would say that on average, at our level (rating 1800 and below) material tends to be the most significant in most games. How many sub-1800 players will seriously punish, say, the loss of one or two tempi?

Work on TACTICS, at least to start with- the ability to avoid falling victim to material loss or forcing combinations will most likely result in you having a fighting chance against most players (up to about 1500 or so)

So in other words..... material and combinations???? Thanks :):)0

i would say at any high level its material but at under 1300 or so its develepment

1500-1700 is really tactics

Silman says, in this order

  1. Initiative
  2. Material
  3. Pawn structure
  4. Lines and squares
  5. Officers (minor pieces)
  6. Developement
  7. Space
It spells IMPLODeS so its easy to remember
