Engine Error?

As shown above, my opponent fell for a well-known trap in The Queen’s Gambit and lost a piece by force. But on move 10, something unorthodox happened, my opponent played the reasonable 10…Qd6, securing material, but then, the engine stated that 10…Qxa7 was the best move on the position, seemingly giving away the queen for nothing, granting a equal position, even slightly better for black, I played the move on the board to see what was the motive behind this strange move, and the engine eval went from +5 to +12 in an instant, so I rechecked with the computer, and it was the top choice of the engine, I thought it was just a miscalculation by the engine and that it was normal, then I realized a engine who calculates millions of moves in a second couldn’t possibly make this INSANELY OBVIOUS blunder! Was this a bug? Am I seeing stuff?

that's weird!

maybe it was to make it more difficult for White to win, with all those pieces so close to the king?

The queen will eventually get trapped against the threat of mate, so it is better to nab the rook early than a minor piece later

And if black tries to avoid this, it will lead to a forced simplification of everything where black has no chances at counter play

Non-existent Queen sac

When I look at it, the engine never says that Qxa7 is "granting a equal position, even slightly better for black". Instead, it says that white is +6 in that variation too.
