The ignorant and rude...
EQ is more important then IQ in chess

Interesting idea. Really interesting idea. It really is the age old question: What is worth more knowledge or nerves? In some ways it is all nerves.

Because you don't understand what EQ is you insult people? You people these days.
I can't work out who you're talking to at all. Who was insulting people for this reason?

I'd disagree. EQ and IQ are extremely innacurate ways to measure anything. I have an IQ of 141, and that means nothing. Someone has an IQ of 92, he's smarter than me. Someone has measured 156, he's dumber than me. Innacurate.
EQ I don't see how it plays a role in a chess game. Honestly. Control you facial expression so your opponent doesn't notice you screaming because you missed a tactic? Not that hard to do.
I'm extremely confused how you define smarter or dumber. Intelligence is defined by current knowledge, capacity to attain knowledge, and problem solving abilities, among other things. Often societies will amount a false norm intelligence. This means that holding certain beliefs makes you stupid or foolish because they are said to be wrong. There are ways the IQ tests can be wrong too. If your friends are spiritual, black, unfamiliar with taking tests, or have ODD, you might think they have an inaccurate IQ test score. Also remember IQ is an average. I have very high cognitive IQ, for example language IQ, but lower puzzle IQ. Some of this was nerves, which means my EQ affected my IQ!

Good luck in your future COP.
Haha. Thanks! How did you know things have been going my way lately lol?

EQ is way-way more important than IQ....since we lead w/ our hearts. It's left brain right brain stuff. Good luck !

"Intelligence is defined by current knowledge, capacity to attain knowledge, and problem solving abilities"
Even if that's a good definition, current knowledge, capacity to attain knowledge, and problem solving abilities are themselves vague terms. For example, if you're going by "current knowledge," what kind of knowledge? There might be a person who knows 100,000 things about one particular video game, which might be more "things" than anyone else knows in the world about anything, yet in most situations this person might be considered clueless if he or she is not well rounded.
"Capacity to attain knowledge" will also probably vary a lot in a person depending on the subject about which they are attaining knowledge. It will probably be a lot easier and more intuitive for them to attain knowledge in subject matter that they enjoy and are interested in.

that's the point! your reply was simple ,meaningful
Simple, but doesn't present much of an argument to back it up. Which is fine, that may not have been her intention, but I am more persuaded by statements that have arguments to back them up, personally.

If you hafta ask what EQ is, then you either don't have much (socially retarded ?) or you don't know how to do a wiki search.
BTW, not everyone on this site are native english speakers so it is very likely that many people dont know what EQ is. and even with a wiki search, you may end up thinking its encephalization quotient.
