Erik owes us yet another apology...

Erik can do anything in this site.  Erik is doing an excellent job in making this site better and I am planning to subscribe as soon as i get my credit card approved.

Accusing anybody of something without evidence is a ground for legal action and can lead to fines or sanctions!

I was wondering what the big whoosh sound was, it was the sound of something flying right over a lot of people's heads I think...

Consider the following:

Set A: the set of all people that don't get humuor

Set B: the set of all people that don't read the whole thread

therefore....

A intersection B is the set of all people that neither understand humour nor read the whole thread..... I knew it existed, just never thought it would be such a large set.

I should explain my last comment, the owner of this site has allowed me to play free chess and join tournaments for free. In his great wisdom he has also allowed me to read every comment ever posted concerning Cheater-1. I rest my case on bringing back Capital punishment for such people.Innocent

uritbon

maybe erik shuts down the site so he can make his moves faster and post what ever he likes in his favourite forum topics... :P

I am not a contributing member as well. But I do think that this site came to stay. It covers a great gap in the chess community. I Know that issues are being fixed and new features have been added lately. Thanks to Erik´s prompt communication skills I am each day more compelled in pulling the triger and pay for extra content.

That being said, I thing either the owner of this post must be kidding or maybe he is so much bitter to not seeing the big picture or he just want to be popular.Laughing

This person is quite clearly a troll. Or a comedien who knows.

Judging by the fact that sooooooo many people did not detect your biting satire, I think Chesterton and Swift would be proud.

Personally, I think that if it irritates like cheater_!, disgusts like cheater_1 and sounds like cheater1, it is!!!!

are you insinuating something?

Evil_Homer

Seems like 2009 will be no different to 2008, in that some people have yet to find their humour recognition switch.

Unfortunately it is a Pay per View facility which few people seem to be able to afford!

This is true. If only people knew how to comprehend the meaning of a post! I am shocked by the idiocy of the people who respond with thing like:

"Erik made a good site. Stop complaining. You don't even pay."

"Erik can do whatever he wants with his website. He owns it."

I'd like to see more of:

"You have a strange sense of humour. This is somewhat amusing."

"This is hilarious! Keep posting things like this!"

"I get the joke, but I don't think it's funny. Perhaps, by honing your sarcastic skills, you can make us laugh like we've never laughed before."

Perhaps people need to learn to read the entirety of a post, think about it, and draw a conclusion before responding.

To BasicLvrCH8r,

You are completely correct.  Part of the fun of this post is that some

of the humour does not read well in print, and people like me keep

stirring the pot with random sarcastic comments (hopefully funny).

Your post was well thought and very reasonable so may I leave you with this:

"You are like a jelly doughnut.  Your arrival gives a pleasure,

and your departure makes us crave for more."

I try to log onto Chess.com and instead of letting me get to the site, it wants me to play this stinkin' "little chess partner!"  It says Erik and his fellow Party members are making improvements to the site!  In my opinion, this whole thing is ridiculous.  If I want to log onto Chess.com, well ****, I should be allowed to!  Dictators like Erik should not be allowed to stop me so that they can make "improvements" to the site.  The only "improvements" that I've seen have been useless ones like Live Chess, Games Explorer, and Computer Analysis.  My guess is that Erik and his fellow thugs just close down the site so they can engage in some kind of covert criminal activity, although I'm not sure about the details.  But I've done nothing wrong!  This is unwarranted!  By the power vested in me, I will organize a boycott of all the members who give Erik no money, unless he tells us all the true reason why he regularly shuts down this site for up to like ten minutes.  Non-paying members of Chess.com, unite!

Why are you making a big deal out of something so minute. Is it really worth wasting your time. You go as far as calling him a dictator. Why do this? Why does he owe you an apology for inconveniencing you for updating the site? Why the hell am I wasting my time typing this? probably in the hopes that my words will get through to your head.

Why are you being so hotheaded? calm down and then talk. It is easier to communicate that way.

By the way, you really need to improve your ethos if you are serious about the boycott. With the way you write, you come out as the bad guy and Eric doesn't.

Daemon,

The post is a joke.  Please read all the entire thread.

Erik is the Jim Jones of Chess.com.  When he asks us all to drink the cool aide,

we will.

i  agree  with gratkovsky, but  your welcome to  your  opinion,  however  i  having nothing  but  good to say about him and staff and what they have done for the site.

i  feel  the notice he gave  about shutting now for about  10 minute  was  ample and its his  perogative in  his  position to  do what  he feels has to be done to keep  this site working

as well as it is.

Not  kasperov,  I  AM NOT ONE TO QUESTION  YOUR  OPINIONS BECAUSE  I DON'T  KNOW YOU  VERY WELL  AND I  DON'T WANT TO BE  ON BAD  TERMS WITH  AMNY  MEMBER IN THIS  FORUM

HOPE  YOUR  FUTURE TO BE VERY PROSPOROUS IN THE YEARS TO  COME, HAPPY , SAFE AND JOYOUS
