Erik owes us yet another apology...

Why, what are you, a queen? Kiss

KillaBeez

No, it wouldn't.  It would give you a better understanding of how other people are responding to the original post and let you double check step 2.  Also, some topics can go completely off track, so if you read the latest comments, you can contribute to the conversation.  For example, on this post, many people should have read some of the comments and seen that NotKasparov said that he was joking.  If they were rubbed the wrong way with the original post, they could have realized their mistake and not made the post.  Instead, they could appreciate his humor rather than sending hateful remarks his way.

Freddie: If you want to insult somebody, calling them a peasant is simply weak sauce.

Let's look at what Freddie did not do.  He likely followed step one and read the entire post.  He failed to draw the correct meaning and signficance, so he failed step two.  Before posting, he likely did not look at the comments about it.  So he did not follow step three.  He is a little iffy on step 4.  And he obviously submitted his comment.

No, your wrong KillaBeez your step three is completly wrong, to help understand a post the comments are irrelevant. It's only the topic post that counts. Reading comments from other people would be silly.

Rich,

reasons for reading all the replies to original post:

1. To save duplication of thoughts/ideas/text.

2. To see how the arguments/comments have altered the OP's stance.

3. To fully understand and learn from other's experience and comprehension of the issues involved.

4.To make sure you've got the "right end of the stick" (so many don't!).

... there are more, but I know your attention span is limited, so won't bore you any further (or waste my time and energy).

Honestly rich, your last post points to a bullheaded nature and a lack of maturity, you're sixteen and already you have all the answers (even when you haven't read or understood the question).

BTW ... didn't you read KillaBeez's comment? oo er! you must be silly then.

KillaBeez

Rich: If you and Freddie want to go chat about how good you are at patsy chess tournaments, do it somewhere else besides this forum.  Instead, actually contribute to the conversation!

Puppaz

No I think they should carry on, I'm finding it fantastically hilarious.

pawngenius

You should have kept your useless ideas to yourself.

Whether you're joking or not, Erik is a good man who gave us chess.com.

If you don't like anything about the site and you have free membership here anyway, then play chess elsewhere.

KillaBeez

The point rich!  obregon26 did not read the latest comments, so he did not know whether he was joking or not.  Plus, he repeated the same comments as many others.

i would hardly call the official 1600-1800 chess.com tournament patsy!

Before you make that comment, why don't you look at the rating of the individual who's making that comment???

Hey Killabeez, Did I follow all 5 steps correctly?

RyanMK

Yeah, he's so stupid, in fact he's even taking Calc 2 as a 14 year old. Isn't that stupid?

(This post was dripping with sarcasm, because as I learned with this forum, people can't detect it.)

Obviously I read his post. Now Ray we all know I am better than your so called student at chess.

Let's find out on Live chess, shall we (5 mins each)? Next time you are both on I will set it up. Furthermore, whatever the outcome, I will publish the games in a forum (surely you won't mind, confident as you are).

I rather suspect you will duck the challenge, knowing that you have little chance in a real game... you don't play live do you?   I wonder why? Wink

KillaBeez

rich, you honestly don't know what 5 minutes each means?

RyanMK

Even if I didn't already know what 5 min each meant, I could still figure it out. I would assume it meant we EACH had 5 MIN to make our moves. And what do you know? I'm right.

smattaih

haha apology some more NotKasparov,
if you can read the Irony in your post, you must be very clever(irony)
Maybe you should post "(irony)" to make it obvious!

Or maybe  Grakovsky Johnson123 donngerard ACQ (and I may be forgotting people who's posts ended on different pages than the first one)
where actually acknologing (mothertongue isn't english so if it's spelled wrong...) your sarcasm, but answered with posts that look like they didn't, but actually is filled with so much sarcasm even I can't detect it :D

I mean
I'm a huge fan of sarcasm and use it whenever possible, but sadly I did not detect it in your OP. So goes life on the internet...(ACQ)
This must be sarcasm on it self right? Actually hard to tell. Maybe ACQ can clear it up to us....

Oh no he can't because if he says "Yeah, it was sarcasm" It could as well be not, but now he lies to hide his mistake of not detecting the sarcasm in your post.
Or he could say "No I really meant it !!!" which could be Sarcasm of the third grade!!! :D actually meaning that his post was sarcasm, giving him the right to call himself " a huge fan of sarcasm".

We will never know for sure....

Yours Sincerely,
anonymous

smattaih

Yeah i like the idea of [sarcasm] [/sarcasm]

f.e:
[sarcasm] Now I read all the posts start to wonder whether people actually care about what they post. I guess guys like Freddie_Sugden just want to get their Member Points Lifted!!!
Any person who post messages on page 6 should have his Member's points reduced! (This of course does not count for people who post on page 7)

I mean who is ever going to read the comments on page 6???

Maybe member points should be given by a thumbs up or something (however cheaters have then an easy way of getting Member points) stopping people to post irrelevant posts on page 2-3-4-5-6!!!! [/sarcasm]

KillaBeez

"Some people need to wake up and smell the coffee."  Don't you think that last statement was a little ironic?

but

ok lets be quiet so erik can tell what hes doingSealed

Maurissius

Maybe the site was messed at that time????

bidoof

you should ask for your money back
