Hi!
Is it proper to resign when you know a forced mate is the next move...or let your opponent have the mate-win?

Either one is good.

The thing you should NOT do in that situation is just stall until your time runs out.

Now THAT is rude.

Yes it's fine. If you want to be really nice, you can allow the mate on the board.
