I feel like I made some of mistakes/not as good moves (inaccuracies) but considering the time control I think I did well to maintain an advantage and give my opponent problems to work through. I think I also did a good job of managing time, ended with just under 3 min I think. If there was one move I would change from my play it was king from f1 to g1, this move was meant as a "practical" move but it did not really have any benefits, especially since my opponent only challenged for control of the diagonal my king would when he was ready to trade lsb and my queen could recapture.
Kind of surprised that someone would play this at this level, I think he saw the london and wanted to "punish" me for playing it. I could easily see someone just blindly set up c3 and e3 and find themselves worse. I think c4 was the most testing response. A key takeaway from that moment I would say is to try to play with minimal fear. I could try to play to be slightly better but I was not scared about losing a pawn (tho I dont think he could hang onto it without severe issues with his king). Worst case is he somehow gets the pawn, holds onto it, I miss tactics and he survives a pawn up, it becomes a learning experience for me, and even than the game is still very much on.
Than again this might just get more common, I did play against 1. g4 a couple of games ago in 10min or 15/10, so this might just be the start of people trying this sort of stuff.
Good to keep in mind the things I pointed out, especially with the opening phase and how to punish it. The key thing you need to remember/try to do is open up the light squared diagonals towards the opposing king (c4 tries to do that), since one of them has been weakened (and it also means he wont play h6, unless he wants light squared suicide). You should also keep in mind that they will try to castle queenside when they have severe kingside issues (like he did after giving me the h file and having played f6). He had the skill to realize castling was suicide. Unfortunately I realized this myself a bit too late and could not end this game earlier, had to go through a lot of nitty gritty stuff. I key thing I should have done is play a bit more prophylactic e.g. play a3 instead of kg2, nothing too committal but saves me a tempo in the grant scheme of things.
