Now cut the toilet roll and form a cone
Exquisite Chess set hand crafted in prison.

Cover the entire cone by wrapping the colored paper around it.
For the head piece I used the top of a carrot neatly cut so as to fit inside the top of the toilet paper cone

For a collar I used a piece of shiny silver paper I found in a box of cigarettes. This little detail rounds the joint between the "neck" and " head piece" off very nicely.
I added pop corn as "jewels" in the queen's crown and again used tooth picks to create the pointy bits of the crown

Here is a beautiful , almost breath taking , photo of the finished piece placed next to a regular wooden piece.
I used a Sillman chess book to create a realistic feel to this photo.
It is quite clear that the hand crafted queen totally over powers the regular factory made queen completely almost to the point where the wooden piece looks pathetic.

wow, that last picture is truly epic.
I think this might be some of my best work.
I also do private tutorials on hand crafted pieces please feel free to pm me for costs

A fantastic result! I'll have to take up smoking so I can make one myself.

It is one of the added and almost unforeseen bonuses of making hand crafted chess pieces, you can take up smoking and have a legit reason for it.
It is one of only two cases where insurances companies don't charge more because you are a smoker.

It is at times like these that I wish I were fluent in more languages, as I can find no words in our limited English lexicon to adequately describe the symetery, beauty and purity of the latest offering. Suffice it to say that it is duckworthy. (Oops, I think I may have created a new word...). Anyway, it is beautiful and inspiring to see that humanity's proud tradition of the hand-crafted, artisanal chess pieces - nay, objets d'art - is unbowed and unbroken and lives on. I just count myself as lucky to have been on this thread at this particular time in history. In fact I do not think it is going to far to suggest that in years to come people will look back on this moment and divide humanity's progress and advancement into everything that happened "before the queen" and everything that happened afterward. Viva!

Words fail me KingTrader, really, I have nothing....
Wait I do seem to have a few words after all.
Apart from some selected pieces from Shakespear and Whitman , the odd poem by Ruben Dario, Pablo Neruda and Areola I have not read a more beautiful piece of poetry or prose than post 84.
It is this type of continued support that helps me push through the cold, dark and miserable hours of the morning to finish these pieces.
Truly my reward is not in seeing another master piece completed but in seeing the joy it brings to others.
As it turns out I feel moved to agree with you completely on dividing humanity's advancement based on the queen I created.
Your sense of the aesthetic is truly astoundingly, believe I have said this before but your insight and taste in art never cease to amaze.

ah; the Duck is back!
cool.
I remember now. stuck in solitary when everywhere else was screaming chess moves to each other in the hopes of defeating craziness; instead you are scrapping away at the lard/dust bunnies.
my only real question is whether you specifically have asked for the most unhygienic, nasty environments the prison can offer- or is it that you have done such a despicable thing that they stuck you in there.
like... perhaps you are in fact a Middle eastern, muslim terrorist in quatemino bay Cuba?
You will need some sticky tape, a toilet roll, scissors and colored paper.
I chose a deep royal crimson paper with gold twirls (it doesn't have to say "Merry Christmas")
