A great gary kasparov set retails for about au$150 which i purchased recently, includes a very detailed knight and larger rooks which mr kasparov was keen to design to reflect their greater piece value, worth checking out.

I saw an ad in a magazine for that set, but haven't been able  to find it online.  Anybody else know where I might find it?

On the side of the box has a web site www.merchantambassador.com which might be of some help, or try mr kasparov's site , or your local games shop.
Pterodactyl
Staunton Pattern for actual play- always. Also I have a little pocket set for study which I've had for 30 years but I've recently misplaced/lost it (don't know why I'm telling you this!).  Mediaeval sets I like too. Ciao!!
