Currently, the FIDE does NOT have an age restriction for competition. I think it should to ensure fairness and development. Regular kid chess players, like me, should not be allowed to compete whatsoever in the FIDE unless you are a real chess prodigy, what I mean by that is that you are really really good. If you are not, maybe kids want to play in an official tournament, so I was thinking of adding an official kids' chess tournament too. What do you guys think?
Organizers can create any tourney they want to. The problem for FIDE rated events is that you need a certain number of offically FIDE rated players to play in the to give a chance for other players to get their FIDE rating.
