Since FIDE ratings has become lower there probably are more kategories, (there should be fifth-class for example) but you can find it out I did not find it.
1. 1400-1499 fourth-class
2. 1500-1699 third-class
3. 1700-1899 second-class
4. 1900-2099 first-class
2100-2299 Candidate master, although you have to reach 2200 to get the title.
2300-2399 Fide master
2400+ International master (norms are needed)
2500+ Grandmaster (norms are needed)
Thank you, that is very kind of you.
It seem more tougher requirement with FIDE rating system.
I am currently rating 2011 uscf and my highest is 2110 uscf. I like very much to reach FIDE candidate master level, planning to play in FIDE rated tournament.
Kamalakanta, I wrote I will be competing in the FIDE rated tournament in the states, reach FIDE candidated master level. Congratulation your achievement!!
To get the CM title, you have to break 2200, not 2175.
You also have to pay to have it become official. If it's not official, you don't have the title. If you have the title, send proof to chess.com and you will get a free membership here.

SmylovFan, if player has not broke 2200 FIDE, is player still first category even if his is rating at 2180 FIDE?
I am not paying anyone to tell me what I already know. My highest rating was 2240 (in 1975-76)....
No need for "official" titles. Why should I pay for something like that? Makes no sense to me.
I would rather spend my money on good chess books.....or music stuff.....instruments, etc....or tennis balls....tennis shoes....anyting except a stupid piece of paper that tells me something I already know.

You would get your diamond membership for free, so it's a bargain.

Well, a reason to pay would be to support FIDE financially. I'm pretty sure they don't work off donations. :P
2100-2299 Candidate master, although you have to reach 2200 to get the title.
2300-2399 Fide master
2400+ International master (norms are needed)
.
As a junior it is possible to be awarded CM, FM, IM titles for winning specially designated national and international championships. The lowest rated FM's and CM's are in the 1300's and 9 years old.
In the USCF our system is;
(1) E-class 1000- 1199
(2) D-class 1200-1399
(3) C-class 1400-1599
(4) B-class 1600-1799
(5) A-class 1800-1999
(6) Expert 2000-2199
(7) National Master 2200-2399
(8) Senior Master 2400-and up extremely strong master level.
What is FIDE requirement for each level; also include IM and GM.
