FIDE vs Chess.com ratings explained

how can you even see your FIDE rating?
Google search "FIDE player lookup." Go into the database, put in the last name (and it is helpful to insert the country), and then hit "search."

That works, but only if you're already a member of FIDE. Non-members can't look up player ratings.

I did google Tor Gulbrandsen fide. (our 7 times club champion). Google told were to find his fide card. To go further and look inside the datas on the card, like look for games and statistics you have to log in with a FIDE-ID

How did you calculate? Remeber that equations give at start of the thread were done before the ratings in rapid were pumped up. An that accurate rating just cannot be made. Minimun estimation range is +-200 pts. Playing 90/30 timelimits is really a different game. If you go to tournament you might get ass whipped by Elo 1200 players
The rapid ratings have gone down again for those who are playing it often. Those with high rapid ratings are those who did not play much after the increase. Also 1200 ELo players are utterly garbage.
A good example is the following FM who is playing a lot of blitz and rapid:
https://www.chess.com/stats/live/schemato?type=rapid
After the rapid increase, his rating went up to over 2300. Afterwards, he kept playing and his rating has slowly regressed to just above 2000. His blitz rating is still above 2300.
Something is seriously wrong with the rapid ratings at the upper end.

According to my Blitz, Standard and Online ratings, my FIDE would be between 1516 and 1733.
Your blitz . Standard and onlinerating is very close to mine, and I am 1388 FIDE, but I think I am underated because I played with a lot of kids in the clubchampionship and my last b-class tournament I became grandfather in round three, couldnt find mental calm state and played my worst tournament ever. So maybe you are right about us belonging to 1500+. Or maybe not. I have been at 1480 in 2015.

I am over 50 and underrated. In Norway there are a lot of middle-aged players that are underrated, and also a lot overrated. Typical for those who are underrated is that they are relatively new. They are parents that have started competing when driving their kids to battles, and its the Magnus-effect. A huge part of us are comeback-players came back to chess when Magnus won WC in Chennai 2013. This event was monitored closely by VG-TV, and boosted chess in Norway a lot.
Us comebackers is still climbing and improving. Its a lot to learn, and learning chess players are in general underrated. The fastest and most underrated learners is of course the superkids, but we old ones also learns. Not that fast, but we do learn and we get better.
The 50year+ players that has been around for decades often are overrated because they often are more or less finished with learning. At the age of 55 I think the tactical mathematic power is more vulnerable than it was when I was young. If I haven't got enough sleep I have less power than I had when little sleep made problems for me as a youth. Because of that the quality of play is more variable, and when well rested I am a lot underrated, but when I am tired I am a lot overrated.

I am not over 50 but definitively overrated.
I looked at some of your games before and I think you are easily 1500 fide if you concentrate more.
it's an online rating, given ad hoc, not real, 1400 is casual, 1600 intermediate, etc.etc.
I do not think you red my post. I have tournament and league experience and said "by looking at some of your GAMES".

Are you making a clown of yourself?
If it's ok with you it's ok with me.
You just disqualified yourself as a discussion partner. Welcome on my ignore list.

Thanks ,
I just started playing the autumn tournament in Nordstrand sjakklubb now, and I am very curious if I can focus well enough. My opponents are rated between nothing and 2041, averaging at 1596. Next game I meet a 1583. Interesting.
The first game went my way, meeting a small new kid that made a dubious queen e7 move against my Max Lange-related Italian opening. . I had a chess journalists attention during the game (Bergstad), and he thought it was very interesting, showed me a couple of ideas that I didn't see, but it was not decisive because I had found another safe way to get the point. It is difficult to find better alternative moves when I already have focus on a specific plan that looks winning.
Does it make any difference to the daily gradings if I set up my account and cheat saying that I am an expert ?
