Hi
FIDE World Chess Championship Singapore 2024: Official Discussion Thread
This happened nine months ago and I am still infuriated with what I saw in this match. Ding won expertly played games in which he showed a superior playing level to Gukesh, while Gukesh only had one well played win. Both games 11 and 14 were extremely disappointing one move blunders from Ding. I feel as if a Ding Liren from his match with Nepomniatchtchi would have won this match before game 14 was reached, anyone else have thoughts to add to this?
If Magnus were to win the World Cup or the Grand Swiss he'd be able to play in the Candidates, even if he doesn't play in enough tournaments to qualify by the Fide Circuit. Besides, his rating alone might qualify him, if he plays enough games. He could play whenever he changes his mind.
