Finally professional

I've been playing chess for about 10 years. I've finally made money from chess... kinda. My blog (consisting of gaming resources and training tips) has bit somewhat of a hit as of lately and adsense has earned me a little pocket cash. I feel good because I've finally stepped up my game to the point where I'm starting to win against good players and not just players I based off an experince class. 

I've also been motivated to take care of myself to keep my mind fresh with a healthy diet and good workout routine.

 it's not spam as it's his own website and you can serve whatever kind of offers you like to all of your visitors even if it's publishing ads through the adsense network.

Spam would be if he harvested a list of emails and sent ads to people who never opted in to get them.

edit: although it could be considered somewhat spamming the search engines with a website title (mothers against drunk driving) that's not relevant to the chess content.

So you're deceiving people into thinking your blog has something to do with M.A.D.D.?

I am actually a web developer and I kinda hate the idea of interferring with the search engine. Esp.. for a group that really is trying to do something proactive for society. 

But I have grown attatched to the name.

Doubt  you can even be considered 'professional' until you are over 2000 FIDE rating...come back and say that when you are :)

I don't know what that organization is, although it is easy to understand. If I were you, I would change that name, because speaking from myself I am not interested in creating predictable discussions. Certainly when people have some emotional understandable reactions, even when it might be incorrect what they say. Is a renaming to something like 'MeandothersAginstDrunkingDriving' ok with you? Then you even support that organization. Your name is now that close to the other organization, that you might profit from their name.

Your subdomain name (MaddChess) for sure is not linked to that organization. And I find that actually a much better description of the content of your site then your other name. The other name creates confusion where maddchess promises what it delivers. Always more reliable and good sense of humor too - and your own creation. If you change the title of your blog for a while into MADDCHESS and your income would fall, then you might have found out a lot about SEO - which you bring into practice advising people. If it does not affect your income, then you have learned even more.

He's getting hits from people who think it's the actual M.A.D.D. organization. You don't have to be very bright to figure that out. He'd probably get even more hits if he changed a letter for the United Nations children's fund. Good for him, right? Make money any way you can, right?

He's not exactly raping the world like all the corporations etc out there. The guy is giving it a go. Are you giving it a go? No!
