Thank you for participating! Based on your move choices, our estimate of your Elo rating is 2198, with a 95% confidence interval of [2066...2331]. The test wasn't timed when I did it and I'm sure I would have scored much lower had it been. I spent quite a long time on some of the puzzles. Time management is one of my biggest problem areas.

I got 1581 rating on that site but it seems inflated. In tactics on this app, I am between 900-1000. Not a bad progress considering I'm 31 years old and started chess just 2 months back. To get a rating of around 1600 seems possible with hard work. Crossing 2000 would be the eventual long term goal.

i have around 1260 tactics, 1700 mentor, 1000 for 10 minute and 1400 for 30 minutes. not sure how accurate this is. not timed and took some time on each. null

simon1138,

the longer you think (within reason) the better your score

Elometer Estimate:

1645 [1503...1787]

This is weird, I am fairly new to chess but my ratings are:

1085 Blitz after 95 games

1075 Rapid after 26 games

1562 Daily after 21 games

Is this estimate accurate?  Maybe I play better slower?

 nullCute. Considering I can't even top 1000.

That is, actually. You're doing well for your age. Keep it up.

76 questions? That takes longer than a correspondence game.

I did this test last August and got a result of 2150 partly because I've held a ~2200 rating on chesstempo for deep calculation/tactics, it'll be interesting to see where I stabilise at on this site because I imagine with a higher proportion of stronger players, that above 2000 there might be a very heavy pool, but whether this site has at or above average tactical strength in depth compared to the hackier sites such as lichess or chesscube is unknown so far.

I just found this site that promises to tell you your "real" elo rating. I tried it and what can I tell you: It is amazing, it really works!

ELO rating is a statistical number, where the pool plays a major role. This test is nonsense.

# 317 is a better test site, indeed.

Seems about right.

"Based on your move choices, our estimate of your Elo rating is 2177, with a 95% confidence interval of [2046...2308]."    Now Im a little perplexed as I absolutely suck at blitz, never play bullet, 15/10 I'm rated around 1650 on this site. I guess 2177 is what I might be rated in classical time controls OTB based on my answers, and confidence interval means "if I take chess seriously and study the game hard for a long time and play in tournaments, I'd then have the confidence to play at 2300 level in long timed games? I have put in some work during the last years, chess mentor rating of 1996 and tactics trainer 2011 rating, but it still doesn't explain why once I play anybody with 1700+, I tend to loose big time...Will post graph underneath.

Because this test is bogus, and doesn't show anything.
