People know Bobby Fischer liked to play the Nimzo on occasion. But that is only if white plays 3. NC3. What if white plays 3 NF3? Forcing Fischer to play openings he doesn't play at all (QID, QGD, or a benoni)
Oddly enough enough every game he played with the nimzo is a nimzo. I can't find a single game where a opponent of his played 3. NF3
