Fischer was an honest and intelligent man he always spoke the truth
LOL stuzzi
that would be telling.
I'll translate your words:
-You're angry
-Why?
-I don't know. 'Cause I say so. Don't laugh at my lack of arguments
I don't see how this proves Fischer was a Genius.
All I see the is OP saying Fischer was smug, arrogant and rather sexist
nah shedinjas, all you are saying there is you jump to conclusions and when someone points something out you try to troll them unsuccessfully. Fischer is dead and can't troll you back.
What conclusions have I jumped to?
What have you pointed out? Nothing
Are you implying that I'm trying to troll Fischer?
I don't agree with a lot of things Fischer said but the only thing that matters is his chess. Nobody before or since has been able to defeat another grandmaster 6 out of 6 games. Fischer did this twice on his way to the world championship.
Today, theory has gotten a lot better because of computers, and high-level players made use of these theory innovations to boost their defense. So it'll be a lot harder to force them into any sort of opening trap.
Fischer was an honest and intelligent man he always spoke the truth
I think theres way more truth to this than gets acknowleged. He was far from a fool even with a couple screws loose. He deserves more credit.
I beat Fischer so much I started signing his name on my autographs.
Tal beat Fischer 4 games when Fischer was 15 and then never beat him again . Even Tal himself remarked that he beat Fischer before he was Fischer !

Ya but Fischer wasn't Fischer till age 29. Tal had his number for a while. I can't remember how many games Fischer actually won against Tal when he was older as they didn't play very often and in any case Tal was past his prime. A young Tal in the early 60s would give Fischer quite the challenge, even as late as the Fischer from 1970.

Tal was past his prime in the early 60s ? I dont think so . Fischer and Tal met 5 times in classical games in 60 ( 1 game ) , 61 ( 1 game ) and 62 ( 3 meetings ) , Fischer won 2 of those games and drew the other 3 while he was still a teen . Its clear that Tal was no match for Fischer when he was in his adult years . After 1962 they never met again in classical chess but did play 2 blitz games in 1970 with Fischer winning both those games and demolishing the field at Herceg Novi . The late 60s was dominated by Boris Spassky .
His contention is that Tal was past his prime when Fischer was beating him , which isnt true at all since Fischer's wins were all in the early 60s .
Theres a cracking drawn game between Fischer and Tal out of the Winawer French with Fischer as white. Interesting as Fischer was convinced the Winawer was positionally unsound and Tal rarely played the French.
"In my opinion, the King's Gambit is busted." Correct.
On women chess players, 1961. Fischer was never one to mince his words, but times have changed since 1961.I think by the 1980s he would have changed his stance on the knight odds suggestion, but I guess we will not know, will we?
"There's no doubt of it in my mind." Radio Interview, June 27 1999 Fair enough. I assume the explanation would be rather detailed. The first K-K match was a farcical affair after a certain time anyways, with all kinds of hidden agendas swept away by the termination of it by Campomanes.
"Outside of chess he knows nothing." Radio Interview, July 6 2001 Possibly true, especially for the time quoted, it's rather typical for most pro chess players.
Btw Fischer was not paranoid or schizophrenic. He was just Fischer. A blunt, honest, gentlemanly guy and chess genius. Find yourself persecuted and see how you treat things as a human being after such events.
Let me quote GM Ben Finegold on that one:
"Fischer was crazy good, then he was just crazy"
"In my opinion, the King's Gambit is busted." Correct.

Let me ignore most of what you said about his sayings (as much as saying I disagree is simply not enough), but I will say this. The King's Gambit is DEFINITELY not busted. The better player will win anyway, a pawn is merely anything in the game of chess if you intend to play aggressively. When playing attacking chess, the whole purpose is to reach to an attacking position when your opponent's defending resources are not enough, you do not intend to trade into an endgame. Try sitting in front of Stockfish 5 minutes for each move of each side and play out the King's gambit, I tried, I guarantee it will end in a draw (as almost always Stockfish vs himself comes out, except in certain openings, but you can only blame the opening book until you prove that a certain opening is really the best.
